Privacy Policy
1.1 Overview
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the Service, including end users/consumers, merchants, and municipalities. By using Mylo Hub, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1.2 Eligibility & User Accounts
The Service is intended for individuals 13 years of age or older. You may browse anonymously, but you must register (via third-party identity providers or email/password) and verify your email to claim offers. Keep your credentials secure and notify us of any unauthorized access; we may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in harmful behavior.
1.3 Information We Collect
End Users
- Anonymous identifier: On first use, we may create an internal, anonymous identifier so you can use Mylo Hub without revealing your identity.
- Account information (for claiming offers): If you register or claim an offer, we collect authentication information from third-party identity providers or email/password and a verified email address.
- Location information: Mylo Hub uses your device’s location to show nearby posts. We do not store users’ precise or approximate location data on our servers. Location processing is performed on your device solely to determine nearby posts.
- Usage & analytics data: We collect general usage and diagnostic information (e.g., screen views, taps, claims, error events) to understand how the Service is used and to improve performance and features.
Merchants & Municipalities
In addition to the information above, we may collect:
- User account information: Email address and, if used, password; authentication information from third-party identity providers; and phone number for SMS verification and important account or service-related messaging.
- Business information: Business or municipality name; business address (street, city, state, ZIP); phone number; email address; website URL; and latitude/longitude associated with the business location to enable location-based discovery.
- Posts & media: Offer, event, and news posts you create, and images/logos/media you upload.
1.4 How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate and maintain the Service.
- Authenticate users and secure accounts.
- Display local content relevant to a user’s area (offers, events, and news).
- Provide merchants and municipalities with analytics relating to their own posts (for example, views, taps, and claims).
- Improve and develop the Service, including via analytics and debugging.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
1.5 Communications & Notifications
We may use your contact information (email, phone number, and device notification tokens) to send:
- Account or security-related communications (including verification).
- Offer claim confirmations or reminders.
- App or service announcements.
- Merchant program or administrative messages (for merchants and municipalities).
- Marketing or promotional messages sent by Mylo Hub about participating merchants, events, or offers, where permitted by law and enabled by your preferences.
Message and data rates may apply for SMS. You may manage or disable non-essential email and SMS marketing notifications in-app or by contacting support@barkingflea.com. Requests submitted by email will be processed within a reasonable period. We may still send Essential Communications as described in the Terms.
We do not sell your personal information.
1.6 How We Share Information
We may share information in the following limited ways:
- Service providers: With trusted providers who assist us in operating and supporting the Service (such as cloud infrastructure, authentication providers, email/SMS gateways, push notification services, and analytics tools). These providers may use data only to perform services on our behalf.
- Merchants & municipalities: We may share aggregated or per-post analytics about their own content (e.g., counts of views, taps, and claims). We do not share another merchant’s data with them.
- Aggregated/de-identified data: We may share anonymized, aggregated statistics that do not identify individuals.
- Legal & safety: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, property, or safety of Barking Flea, our users, or others.
We do not share or sell user data to unrelated third-party advertisers.
1.7 Data Storage & Security
Mylo Hub stores user data and media on secure third-party cloud infrastructure, and we rely on managed services for authentication, functions, and analytics.
We implement reasonable and appropriate security measures, which may include encryption in transit and at rest (where supported), access controls, authentication, and tools to help prevent unauthorized or automated abuse.
No system can be completely secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
1.8 Retention
We retain personal data only as long as reasonably necessary to operate the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. We may retain anonymized or aggregated data that does not identify you.
1.9 Your Choices & Rights
- Notifications & communications: Manage in-app notification and marketing preferences via the Mylo Hub Settings page.
- SMS and email (non-essential): You may enable or disable non-essential SMS/email messaging in Settings, or request changes by emailing support@barkingflea.com. Email requests will be processed within a reasonable period.
- Essential communications: Disabling non-essential notifications does not affect Essential Communications (verification, security, and critical service/legal notices).
- Account deletion & data requests: You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data, or request access/correction, by contacting support@barkingflea.com. We may retain certain information where required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention or record-keeping).
- Location settings: You can control app-level access to your device location via your device’s system settings. Disabling location access may limit or prevent core functionality such as showing nearby posts.
- Analytics: Analytics is generally collected in a de-identified or aggregated way and may not be individually disabled.
Your rights may vary depending on your jurisdiction.
1.10 Cookies, Links & Shared URLs
- The Mylo Hub mobile app does not rely on traditional web browser cookies.
- Shared links or URLs related to Mylo Hub (for example, on mylohub.app or related domains) may open the app if installed, redirect you to the app store, or display a basic preview page.
- We do not use these shared links to track you across unrelated third-party websites or to place advertising cookies.
Third-party websites or platforms you visit (such as social networks or merchant websites) may use their own cookies and tracking tools; their practices are governed by their respective privacy policies.
1.11 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Service, legal or regulatory requirements, or improvements in our data practices. When we do, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document and may provide additional notice within the app or on our website if changes are significant.
